Vienna, Virginia · Speaking nationwide since 1985

Get along better with anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Arnold Sanow, MBA, CSP works with leaders and teams to fix the thing that quietly costs the most: how people talk to each other. More than 2,500 paid presentations, and over 90 percent of clients book him again.

Forty years of evaluations

The numbers a meeting planner actually cares about

Arnold has been doing this since 1985. These are his own published figures, and the one on the left is the one that matters: nine out of ten clients either book him again or hand his name to somebody else.

Why they keep asking him back

Ninety percent is not a marketing number. It is a room that went well.

A speaker who bombs gets paid once. Arnold has been rebooked and referred by more than nine in ten of the organizations he has worked with, from the FBI Academy to Kaiser Permanente, and his evaluations average between 4.8 and 5.0 out of 5.

Programs

Six things he is asked for most

Every one of these can run as a keynote, a general session, a half or full day workshop, an ongoing training program or one to one coaching, in person or virtually. None of them is delivered off the shelf. Arnold rebuilds the examples around your people before he stands up.

Booking him

You are the one taking the risk, not him

Somebody has to stand up and say they picked the speaker. Four of the things Arnold does are aimed squarely at that person.

He learns your business first

Arnold meets the organizers before the date, learns the audience, the pressures and the vocabulary, and rebuilds the examples so they are yours. One client wrote that he made the effort to learn their industry, which far too few speakers bother to do.

He helps you fill the room

If you want it, he emails your participants before the event to sell them on attending, and again closer to the date. Attendance is the planner's problem, so he treats it as his.

The extras are included, not quoted

Worksheets and handouts, articles for your newsletter, a follow up email to every attendee summarising the key points, permission to record the session, and a debrief with your leadership afterward.

He stays in the room

He arrives early, meets people at the door, and is still there afterward. He does not present and leave. Several of the notes below mention exactly that, unprompted.

Clients

Five hundred organizations, and a lot of them wear badges

Working out of the Washington DC region for four decades has given Arnold an unusual client list for a communication speaker. Federal agencies book him repeatedly, and so do the associations, law firms and manufacturers around them.

In their words

Notes from the people who booked him

Arnold was a big hit this week! He was full of energy, had great stories, related well to our group, and was funny. The group walked away with specific ways to connect with our customers. Thanks for making both of us look good!
Paula KennedyManager, Learning Development, Kaiser Permanente

Amy ShannonMeeting Coordinator, Lockheed Martin
I can speak confidently for our entire group in saying that your delivery, pace, content, style, and especially the on-target videos and examples were just what we needed to accomplish our goal. When I saw you greeting attendees at the door on the first day, I knew we had hit a home run in selecting you as our trainer.
Karl ReedyDistrict Administrator, Virginia Department of Transportation
I have to tell you that it is rare for staff to seek me out and thank me for sending them to training, even when they requested it.
Rick KroppDirector, United States Geological Survey
Arnold does an excellent job of listening to the client's needs, tailoring his presentation and absolutely exceeding their expectations. I have received many spin-offs from his original appearances for our clients and these have resulted in additional bookings.
Kristi WilsonVice President, Eagles Talent Speakers Bureau
He made some very important points in a relaxed and humorous way…

How an engagement runs

Four steps, and most of the work happens before the date

  1. Step 1

    First call

You tell him the group, the date, the format and what is actually going wrong. He will tell you honestly whether he is the right speaker for it.

  2. Step 2

    Tailoring

He talks to organizers, and often to a few participants, then rebuilds the session around your challenges. This is where most of his preparation time goes.

  3. Step 3

    The session

Keynote, workshop, breakout, general session or facilitation, in person or virtual. Interactive throughout, with the audience doing a fair share of the talking.

  4. Step 4

    Afterward

A summary email to every attendee, articles you can reuse, and a debrief with your leadership on what he saw and what he would work on next.

Common questions

What planners ask before they book

Communication, interpersonal relationships, emotional intelligence, customer experience, team building, leadership and presentation skills. The flagship program is Get Along Better with Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere. Every program is tailored to the group before it is delivered.

CSP stands for Certified Speaking Professional, a designation awarded by the National Speakers Association. Fewer than 850 speakers worldwide hold it, and it requires a documented track record of paid, well-reviewed presentations. Many meeting planners will only book a CSP.

Yes. Every keynote, workshop, training program, facilitation and coaching engagement can be delivered virtually or in person, and the material is adjusted for the format rather than simply moved online.

He founded Sanow Professional Development in 1985 and has delivered more than 2,500 paid presentations to over 500 organizations, averaging 4.8 to 5.0 out of 5.0 on participant evaluations.

Keynotes, half and full day workshops, breakout and general sessions, multi session training programs, retreats and facilitations, one to one executive coaching, and the year long Leadership Mastery Program built from ten modules.

Corporations, associations and government agencies. Past clients include Kaiser Permanente, Lockheed Martin, Pfizer, NASA, the National Institutes of Health, the FBI and the US Department of the Treasury, among more than 500 others.

Yes, and it is the part he spends the most time on. He meets with the organizers beforehand to learn the audience, the challenges and the vocabulary, so the examples in the room are the group's own rather than generic ones.
